Am I being overly cautious about this daycare?

I am a Daycare Provider and I will give you my perspective. Good, PROFESSIONAL Providers, like Kim, are very consistent with their expectations. The children learn the rules and follow them because of the Provider's expectations and the peer influence. I also take my children on walking trips to the park. I also allow the children to run ahead on the sidewalk. They know to stop at the "yellow bumps" at the corner and if anyone goes on the street they will be in big trouble. (They have to sit on the bench at the park for a timeout. Heartbreaking!) Trust your gut and if you REALLY don't like the idea of your child walking to the park you should choose another Provider but you may be missing out on a really great program if you do!
