How would I use the web without a mouse?

In a graphical environment, a mouse is hardly "pollution". There is no efficient way to navigate a web page without a mouse. You can use tab to cycle between the different components on a web page, but there's no built-in way for your browser to know "this is a search box- I want to go here".
