My mother keeps getting all these things, but I want new stuff?

She keeps collecting baby items from friends, but I really want to register for new stuff! I have a huge family, I have no doubt they would love to spoil this baby. She has gotten a carseat, stroller, swing, everything secondhand, and I don't like most of it. How do I get her to stop? I tried telling her I want to try to get new stuff from my shower first, then see what family and friends have, but she won;t listen.
