Am I right for wanting to disown my family?

I can imagine how you must feel, but don't disown your family and stop defending the path you have chosen for your life. Just refuse to respond to anyone who wants to talk to you about their desires for you. I have a Grandson who is now in medical school and at this point wants to be a surgeon. We are all so proud of him. Return the tasteless gifts you received and go on with your life.
