Che Guevara, a good person, inspiring?? Holy?

No, Che Guevara was not a good person. He was at best a hypocrite, and at worst a monster. He paid lip-service to high ideals and was quite charming when he wanted to be. However, after he came to power along with Fidel Castro in Cuba in 1959 he showed his true nature by overseeing (and participating) in rounding up “enemies of the people,” (you know, people who owned homes or businesses, teachers, doctors or medical staff, religious leaders, intellectuals and the intelligentsia in general), and murdering them (yes, the saintly Che shot helpless people in the head). He helped Castro suppress any and all opposition to the new Communist worker’s paradise. He became (literally, I’m sure you’ve seen it) the poster boy of the 60s left-wing liberals who concentrate on his rhetoric and ignore his deeds. He was never “one of the people.” He was born into a rich family and always considered and treated “the people” like servants…or worse….
